Born in Austria (1974), Dr Stefan Schermaier conducted his legal studies in Austria and graduated (Dr jur) from the University of Salzburg and Bonn (Germany) in 1998. From 1999-2003, he was an associate with Schönherr Attorneys at Law in Vienna, and has been an attorney-at-law at Lansky, Ganzger & Partner since 2003. Mr Schermaier is a member of the Bar associations of Vienna and Bratislava. He is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the European Association of Lawyers (DACH), and the Vienna Alliance of Lawyers (Wiener Juristenverband). He deals with correspondence in German and English. Mr Schermaier's areas of practice include M&A (M&A transactions in Austria and CEE countries; international joint ventures; privatisation proceedings in Austria and CEE countries; acquisitions of companies in CEE countries; investments in CEE), corporate law (establishment of corporations; restructuring), and banking and securities (consultations for credit institutions; project financing; facility agreements; cash pooling). Publications include 'Der gemeinschaftsrechtliche Staatshaftunsganspruch' ('Liability of state according to the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice'), Peter Lang Verlag, 1999, and several articles in legal journals on corporate and banking law.
